Romanian tennis player Mihaela Buzarnescu was asked to change her black bra and wear only white bra before starting the first round of the Wimbledon match against Nastasja Schunk. Mihaela was wearing black bra in violation of the Wimbledon’s dress code for tennis players.
The Grand Slam’s rules do not allow tennis players to wear clothing that is not white, including their undergarments. Even off-white or cream colours are also not allowed.
Wimbledon supervisors spotted Mihaela Buzarnescu’s “illegal” undergarment during her warm-up before the start of the match and they asked her to change her bra according to rules of Wimbledon.
Buzarnescu, who was wearing a black bra said that it was “too black” and the white one she had was “too transparent”.
She had to borrow the garment from her coach.
“That’s good, we did it,” said Buzarnescu, who ended up winning the match.
