Rawalpindi to Host Opening Ceremony of PSL X for the First Time

The highly anticipated tenth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X) will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, April 11. This will be the first time that Rawalpindi hosts the opening ceremony of Pakistan’s premier T20 cricket tournament.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the opening ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM, followed by the inaugural match at 8:30 PM between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time title holders Lahore Qalandars.

The tournament, featuring six teams, will be held at four major venues—Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan—with the grand final scheduled for May 18 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The opening ceremony promises to be a cultural extravaganza, featuring a star-studded lineup of performances. Legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen will take the stage, followed by a cultural showcase by Ali Zafar and a contemporary rap performance by Young Stunners. Additionally, the artists behind the official PSL X anthem—Abrar ul Haq, Natasha Baig, Talha Anjum, and Ali Zafar—will also perform live, and the event will conclude with a stunning fireworks display.

Tickets for both the opening ceremony and the matches are available online at pcb.tcs.com.pk.

The PCB has also requested all media outlets to refer to the event as “HBL PSL X” in all coverage, headlines, and bulletins.

Fans can access the full tournament schedule and the official anthem via the league’s official platforms.
