PSG Boosts Security After Fan Protests

PSG Boosts Security After Fan Protests

PSG increased security at the club’s training ground and the homes of Lionel Messi and Neymar after fans angry about recent results at the Ligue 1 leaders protested.

Several hundred PSG supporters gathered outside club headquarters on Wednesday evening, where they set off smoke flares and sang hostile chants about underperforming stars Messi, Neymar, and Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.

A group of Paris Saint-Germain fans gathered outside Neymar’s house and demanded his departure from the club.

They held banners and chanted slogans such as Neymar Get Out”, showing visible anger and frustration.

They demanded that the star forward leave the club during the upcoming transfer window.

However, he remained calm and composed and did not engage in any altercation with the fans.

In 2017, Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in a record-breaking deal worth $222 million.

Despite being one of PSG’s key players for six seasons, he has been unable to elevate the team to new heights, and his injury history has been a major concern for the club.

Lionel Messi suspension

Messi suspended for For Two Weeks By PSG Over Unapproved Trip To Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi’s unauthorized family holiday to Saudi Arabia led to his suspension by Paris Saint-Germain, and the club informed him that they will not renew his contract.

Despite having a commercial contract with Saudi Arabia to promote tourism, Lionel Messi’s request for a family holiday in the Kingdom was reportedly denied by his club, according to L’Equipe.

However, Messi and his family still went ahead with the trip and visited various cultural sites, such as an authentic Saudi farm and a palm-weaving demonstration.

Although Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain has an optional third-season clause, it has been widely speculated that he will not extend his stay at the Parc des Princes.

As a result of his unapproved holiday, his suspension period is for two weeks, causing him to miss PSG’s upcoming games against Troyes and Ajaccio, but he may return for the match against Auxerre on May 21.

PSG

PSG included Messi in their lineup for the entire game during their 3-1 home defeat by Lorient in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Despite the loss, they still maintain a five-point lead at the top of the table with five games left to play, ahead of Marseille.
