ISLAMABAD: Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has reported experiencing rib pain and is currently undergoing diagnostic tests to determine the source of his discomfort, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the cricket team.
In the recent ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 match against New Zealand, Rauf had to leave the field after bowling 10 overs and conceding 85 runs due to this issue. Unfortunately, during that match, he set an undesirable record by giving away the highest number of sixes ever conceded by a bowler in a World Cup edition. Additionally, he is among the bowlers who have allowed the most runs in a single World Cup edition.
It’s important to note that, as per an official statement from the national team’s spokesperson, Haris Rauf has not suffered any injuries, and his MRI scan results have returned without any issues. The fast bowler will continue to undergo regular medical assessments.
In related news, young pace sensation Naseem Shah had to withdraw from the ongoing World Cup 2023 due to a shoulder injury.
Pakistan is gearing up for a crucial match against England in the 44th game of the ICC World Cup 2023, scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India, on November 11. This match is a must-win situation for the Pakistani team.
Furthermore, all-rounder Shadab Khan had to leave the field due to a concussion during a match against South Africa in Chennai. His availability for Pakistan’s upcoming match remains uncertain, as he hasn’t participated in any games since the incident.
