Pakistan street child football team beat UN team ahead of Norway Cup

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan street child football team beat the United Nations team by 5-0 in an exhibition match at the Jinnah Stadium of the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad

Team is going to participate in Norway Cup starting July 30.

The Pakistan street child football team achieved a remarkable victory over the United Nations team in an exhibition match. The football match was held at Jinnah Stadium in Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. They emerged victorious with a score of 5-0.

Currently, the team is undergoing their final training camp in preparation for their upcoming appearance in this year’s Norway Cup. On July 27, they will set off for the Scandinavian country. There, they will join 30 teams from across the globe to compete in this highly anticipated event. It is important to highlight that the Norway Cup holds a reputation as one of the largest youth football leagues in the world.

The representatives of the UN in Pakistan played a crucial role in motivating and inspiring the street child team. Their support was instrumental as the team eagerly geared up for their participation in this prestigious tournament. Their support and encouragement have been instrumental in preparing the team both physically and mentally.

As the Norway Cup kicks off on July 30, young talents will have an incredible platform. They will be able to showcase their skills and passion for the sport on an international stage.

Chris Kaye, the Country Director of the World Food Programme praised the exceptional past performance of these children. He commended their remarkable achievements, highlighting their outstanding track record.

He emphasized their talent and expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting them. Their aim was to enjoy playing football alongside these skilled teenagers.

 Kaye further stated that, “We are here to support these talented street kids. We are here to enjoy and play good football with these talented teenagers.”

The street child players from Pakistan are determined to showcase a positive image of their country through sports.

Notably, the street child football team achieved second place in Norway in 2015 and secured third place in 2016.
