Pakistan comfortably defeats New Zealand in semi-final to qualify for the final match of T20 World Cup 2022

ISLAMABAD: The charismatic 105 runs partnership between Pakistani openers _ Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan led to a comfortable victory against New Zealand in the first semi-final match played in Sydney, Australia today.

Both the openers completed their half centuries before losing their wickets in the match.

Pakistan won this match by seven wickets against New Zealand in the final over. Pakistani fans of cricket started likening the team’s run Imran Khan and his team had during the 1992 World Cup.

That dream is still alive as Pakistan is going to face the winner of second semi-final match to be played between England and India on Thursday.

Since 2007, Pakistan will be playing their third T20 World Cup final since the launching of the tournament.

New Zealand gave 153 runs target to Pakistan while batting first after winning the toss and Pakistan team achieved the target by losing only three wickets in the 20th over.

Interesting, Pakistani fans kept on guessing the performance of openers before the start of their innings. However, 105-run partnership between skipper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan gave a confidence to fans and Pak team about their victory in this match against Kiwis.
