England’s women’s cricket team achieves a clean sweep against Pakistan in the T20I series achieves a clean sweep against Pakistan in the T20I series

The green shirts conclude the three-match series without a win, as England triumphs by 34 runs in the series finale.

Hosts England complete a whitewash of the Pakistan women’s team in the T20I series, culminating in the national side’s defeat in the third and final match in Leeds on Sunday.

Under Nida Dar’s leadership, the squad commenced the 177-run chase steadily, with Gul Feroza and Sidra Amin contributing 30 runs on 29 balls and 26 runs on 29 balls, respectively.

Despite the cautious start, Pakistan appeared promising until Amin was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone, followed by Feroza’s wicket in the next over, taken by Charlie Dean.

As the batting lineup faltered, Dar and Aliya Riaz attempted to salvage the situation, both scoring 29 runs on 24 balls with three fours and one six, and 35 runs on 27 balls with four fours, respectively.

Dean, Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, and Danielle Gibson each claimed one wicket. Batting first, England Women set a target of 176 runs, losing 10 wickets in the process.

The standout performance in the English lineup came from Danni Wyatt, who scored 87 runs off 48 balls. Her explosive innings featured 14 fours and a solitary six.

Pakistani captain Nida Dar and pacer Diana Baig claimed three wickets each, while emerging pace sensation Fatima Sana secured a solitary wicket.

It’s worth noting that the Girls in Green commenced the tour on May 11 with a defeat, falling short by 53 runs. In the second T20I on May 17, Pakistan suffered another loss as England triumphed by 65 runs.

This series defeat follows a string of poor performances for Pakistan, including losses in the T20I and ODI series against West Indies at home, with scores of 4-1 and 3-0 respectively.

Despite the setback against England, Nida Dar achieved a milestone by becoming the leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket. She achieved this feat after dismissing Alice Capsey and Amy Jones in the second T20I, bringing her tally to 140 wickets in the format.

Both teams will now face off in the upcoming ODI series, commencing on May 23.
