The seven-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series between England and Pakistan will begin later this month in Karachi, and the ECB revealed their squad on Friday.
According to an ECB statement, the England men’s selection panel has announced the team that will represent the country at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, which will be held in Australia beginning in October.
Chris Jordan (finger) and Liam Livingstone (ankle) are both on track to be healthy for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, but they will not be touring Pakistan in advance of the tournament.
England’s captain Jos Buttler will be in Pakistan despite a calf injury, and he should be ready to play in the final few games of the seven-game series. Moeen Ali will lead the team as captain while Buttler is out with an injury.
The first tour to Pakistan since 2005 will feature five players with no caps. Batsman for Kent, Jordan Cox, is joined by batsmen for Middlesex (Tom Helm), Surrey (Will Jacks, right), Warwickshire (Olly Stone, quick), and Lancashire (Luke Wood, seam). On September 14th, the touring party will board a plane bound for Pakistan.
