The Pakistan team arrived in Dubai for the T20 Asia Cup 2022 to find scorching temperatures. On August 28, the team will play their bitter rivals, India, in the tournament.
On August 27, the event will begin with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, and then on the same day, Pakistan and India will play in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
An official who was accompanying the squad indicated that the cricket players would be experiencing tremendous heat in Dubai, in contrast to the extremely comfortable weather they had had in Holland.
Temperatures during the day hover between 41 and 42 degrees. As it stands, the players won’t be able to get in any early morning practice due to the extreme weather. Cricketers rested for a day, then got back to work late Wednesday night at Dubai Academy Ground. According to The News’ story, an official explained that exercising in the nets is difficult because of the heat.
The Pakistani team’s backroom staff is taking extra precautions to ensure the players stay hydrated during the entire practice.
Although cricketers are experts who are obligated to perform to the best of their abilities under all circumstances, they will find that doing so in this country is a challenge. Every squad and player deals with the same weather,” he said.
Nonetheless, the Pakistani team gave their all throughout the nearly three hours of exercise they were given.
Players from both Pakistan and Afghanistan could be overheard engaged in animated conversation on the sidelines of the training session, discussing a wide range of cricket-related topics. Fakhar Zaman also gave Afghanistan and Rashid Khan his bat. The injured Shaheen Afridi joined in and was spotted making jokes and chatting with his Afghanistan team mates.
However, one of the best bowling coaches at the National High-Performance Centre, Umer Rashid, has joined the Pakistan men’s team as the Asia Cup’s new assistant fast bowling coach.
In addition to assisting Mohammad Hasnain in his return to competitive cricket, Umer has worked with all the fast bowlers on the national team since they were young. For the national team, Umer will be working in the United Arab Emirates alongside fast bowling coach Shaun Tait from Pakistan.
Based on Saqlain Mushtaq’s recommendation, Umer has been included in the roster of players who have access to support staff.
