In the latest ICC Men’s ODI Rankings update, India’s Shubman Gill narrows the gap with top-ranked Babar Azam. Gill’s impressive performances in the ODI series against Australia have propelled him to a new career-high rating of 847 points, just 10 points behind Babar Azam.

This competition for the top spot is expected to intensify during the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

Rassie van der Dussen of South Africa holds the third position in the batting rankings, trailing significantly behind the leading duo.

Ireland’s Harry Tector achieved a new career-high rating, securing the fourth spot. India’s Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul also climbed in the rankings due to their noteworthy performances against Australia.

In the bowling rankings, Mohammed Siraj maintains his position at the top, thanks to his exceptional performance during the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.

He holds an 11-point lead over Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, despite not participating in the ODI series against Australia. The ODI bowler rankings remain highly competitive, with just 55 rating points separating the top 10 players.

Experienced Australia spinner Adam Zampa improved one spot to seventh, while India’s Mohammed Shami and Australia’s Sean Abbott also made notable gains in the rankings.

Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman climbed five spots to 23rd after a strong performance in the ODI series against New Zealand.

Overall, the competition for the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings heats up between Shubman Gill and Babar Azam, fans can expect an exciting battle during the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

Meanwhile, the ODI bowling rankings remain closely contested, with bowlers striving to maintain their positions at the top.
