Australia’s Claire Polosak Set to Umpire Women Series Matches in Karachi

Australia’s Claire Polosak is set to make history as she takes on the role of on-field umpire for all eight white-ball matches between the women’s cricket teams of Pakistan and West Indies in Karachi.

Scheduled from April 18 to May 3 at the National Bank Stadium, these matches promise to be a showcase of talent and sportsmanship.

The West Indies women’s cricket team is gearing up for their arrival in Karachi on April 14 to engage in a series of three ODIs and five T20Is. These ODIs are significant as they are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, adding to the competitive edge of the series.

Former Test batter and esteemed member of the PCB and ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, Ali Naqvi, will take charge of the playing control team for the ODI series, ensuring fair play and adherence to cricketing standards. Muhammad Javed, another esteemed official from the PCB and ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the playing control team for the T20I series.

Joining Polosak in officiating the matches during the ODI series are Abdul Moqeet, Imran Jawed, and Nasir Hussain, all esteemed members of the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires. Additionally, Saleema Imtiaz and Humairah Farah, part of the PCB Women’s Panel of Umpires, will serve as reserve umpires.

For the T20I series, which kicks off on April 26, Polosak will be joined by a distinguished panel of umpires including Faisal Afridi, Farooq Ali Khan, and Tariq Rasheed from the ICC and PCB Elite Panel of Umpires. Afia Amin, Humairah, and Saleema will be the reserve umpires for the T20I series.

The meticulous scheduling and selection of officials reflect the commitment to ensuring a fair and competitive environment for the matches.

As the cricketing world eagerly anticipates these encounters, the presence of Polosak and other esteemed officials adds a layer of prestige and professionalism to the series.
