Anita Karim, Pakistan’s first professional mixed martial arts fighter, praised her supporters for their support after defeating an Australian opponent in Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Karim, who is from Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan, fought Uyen Ha in Bangkok in the minimum weight class. The fight was put on by Fairtex Fight Promotion.
Throughout the match’s first three rounds, she stayed in complete control of her opponent.
Karim’s brother tweeted about his sister’s accomplishments earlier today.
Karim, who made her professional MMA debut in 2018, is the sole female fighter in Pakistan’s more than 300-strong MMA community.
According to sources, Anita has been training at the Fairtex Training Centre, Pattaya, for a few years now.
