Bowling Coach
Former BLACKCAP Andre Adams will join the BLACKCAPS support staff for the upcoming KFC T20 Series against Pakistan. Adams, who previously worked as the pace bowling coach for the WHITE FERNS during their 2023 tour to South Africa, will take on the role of the bowling coach for the five-match series under head coach Gary Stead. This move is part of the coaching group that also includes the regular batting coach Luke Ronchi.
Adams brings a wealth of cricketing experience to the BLACKCAPS setup, having played for New Zealand and gained coaching experience. His role will primarily focus on enhancing the bowling department’s performance during the T20 series against Pakistan.
The BLACKCAPS support staff will see changes in other roles as well during this series. BLACKCAPS Strength and Conditioning Coach Chris Donaldson and Team Performance Manager Simon Insley will take a break, and their positions will be filled by Cricket Wellington’s Head of Athlete Development, Matt Long, and Central Districts High-Performance Manager Dave Meiring, respectively.
Adams officially joins the BLACKCAPS squad in Auckland, starting his responsibilities as the bowling coach. The team aims to benefit from his insights and coaching expertise as they prepare for the challenging T20 series against Pakistan. The first KFC T20I between New Zealand and Pakistan is scheduled for this Friday at Auckland’s iconic Eden Park, promising an exciting start to the series.
