A devastating house fire in Peshawar’s Tehkal Payan area claimed the lives of six members of the same family. The victims included a husband, his wife, and their four young children, who became trapped inside the burning home.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the fire. However, despite their efforts, all six family members lost their lives.
Rescue Teams Recover Six Bodies
Rescue 1122 personnel launched a firefighting operation immediately after arriving at the house.
During a search of the property, rescuers recovered the bodies of six people from a single room.
The victims were identified as 55-year-old Siraj, his 40-year-old wife, 11-year-old Hareera, nine-year-old Hanaya, four-year-old Hasnain, and three-year-old Minhal.
Smoke and Intense Heat Proved Fatal
According to rescue officials, all six victims were found in the same room.
Authorities said they died because of the intense heat generated by the fire and suffocation caused by heavy smoke inhalation.
The rapid spread of smoke prevented the family from escaping safely.
Investigation Into Fire Cause Underway
A Rescue 1122 spokesperson explained the circumstances surrounding the incident, stating, โThe fire started in the hall area of the house, where furniture, foam materials, and other household items were kept, causing the flames to spread rapidly.โ
The spokesperson further added, โthe exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.โ
Fire Brought Under Control
Rescue officials confirmed that firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control after reaching the scene.
However, the thick smoke and extreme heat inside the house had already caused a tragic loss of life before rescue teams could reach the trapped family members.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
