At least six people were killed in an explosion in Mastungโs Khad Kocha area on Friday. Police also reported three injuries following the blast.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rafiq Hamza said the explosion occurred at an orchard. Authorities shifted the victimsโ bodies to Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Hospital.
Meanwhile, a bomb disposal unit reached the site to determine the explosionโs nature. Law enforcement personnel also cordoned off the area after the incident.
Bomb Disposal Team Probes Explosion
Police officials said investigators were examining evidence from the blast site. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the explosion.
The latest incident follows another deadly blast in Quetta. Two people died and two others suffered injuries in that explosion.
An explosive device planted beside a road caused the Quetta blast. The incident occurred at Wali Tangi in the Hanna Urak recreational area.
Security authorities continue investigating recent attacks across Balochistan. The province has experienced increased militant activity in recent years.
Balochistan Remains Violence Hotspot
According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies, Balochistan remained among Pakistanโs major violence hotspots. The report covered the second quarter of 2026.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest number of violence-related fatalities during the period. Balochistan accounted for 34 percent, with 265 deaths reported.
Together, the two provinces recorded nearly 96 percent of violence-related fatalities. Security forces continue conducting intelligence-based operations across Balochistan.
