GUJRANWALA: A kidnapping attempt targeting a 16-year-old girl in Gujranwala’s main market was foiled after her sisters bravely intervened and forced the suspects to flee. The incident occurred in broad daylight and was captured on CCTV cameras.
The footage, which has circulated widely on social media, shows the girls confronting the alleged abductors to protect their sister. Their quick response prevented the suspects from carrying out the kidnapping.
According to reports, the teenager was walking through the market with her two sisters when a car stopped nearby. Moments later, a masked suspect stepped out of the vehicle and allegedly attempted to force the girl into the car.
The suspect reportedly grabbed the teenager by her hair and tried to drag her toward the vehicle. However, her sisters immediately resisted and confronted the attacker.
Their determined response disrupted the alleged kidnapping attempt. As a result, the suspect abandoned the effort and fled the scene along with his accomplices.
Following the emergence of the CCTV footage, police launched an investigation and registered a case. Authorities said they are conducting raids and using the video evidence to identify and arrest the suspects.
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to trace the vehicle and those involved in the incident. Meanwhile, investigators continue to examine the footage and gather additional evidence.
The incident has drawn widespread attention on social media, where many users praised the courage and presence of mind shown by the victim’s sisters. Their actions are being credited with preventing a potentially serious crime.
In a similar incident last year, local residents in Jacobabad thwarted an attempted kidnapping of several female teachers. Armed robbers stopped a school van and allegedly tried to abduct its occupants. However, residents intervened and resisted the attackers, forcing them to flee after firing shots into the air.
Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help prevent such incidents.
