High-Level National Action Plan Review Held in Quetta
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the Provincial Apex Committee meeting of the National Action Plan in Quetta.
The meeting reviewed security conditions, counterterrorism progress, governance reforms, and ongoing development projects in Balochistan.
Senior civil and military leadership attended the session, including Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and federal ministers.
Officials briefed the Prime Minister on the security situation across the province. They confirmed continued efforts against terrorist networks and coordinated inter-agency operations.
The Prime Minister praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and sacrifices in counterterrorism operations nationwide.
He also appreciated provincial leadership for improvements in public welfare initiatives and governance reforms.
Frontier Corps Deployment Approved for Mineral Security Protection
The Prime Minister directed the deployment of Frontier Corps in the Rakhshan Division.
Officials said this step will establish a dedicated security corridor to protect mineral resources and critical infrastructure.
The corridor will include additional Frontier Corps wings, highway checkpoints, surveillance systems, and border posts.
The government emphasized that Pakistan is rich in natural resources, especially minerals, and their protection is vital for economic stability.
The Prime Minister said a secure environment is essential for maintaining investor confidence in mining and development projects.
He also stressed the importance of merit-based and transparent appointments in provincial administration.
Officials highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize police forces with advanced training and technology to improve counterterror capabilities.
Major Progress Reported in Education, Health, and Digital Reforms
The meeting reviewed major development indicators across education, health, infrastructure, and communications sectors.
Officials confirmed that around 99 percent of schools in Balochistan are operational, ensuring continued educational activity.
Healthcare progress includes functional cancer institutes, dialysis centers, and trauma facilities, with more projects under development.
Authorities reported that no new polio case has been recorded since November 2024, marking a significant public health achievement.
Solar energy projects have benefited more than 15,000 households and generated savings of approximately 105 billion Pakistani rupees.
The government is also expanding youth development programs, including education access, vocational training, sports initiatives, scholarships, and digital skills training.
Officials said these initiatives aim to integrate youth into the national mainstream and improve employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister emphasized that youth empowerment and digital inclusion are central to long-term national development.
The meeting also reviewed digital governance reforms and efforts to expand a cashless economy system.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that coordinated federal and provincial action will continue to strengthen security, stability, and development across the province.
