Quetta: Security forces foiled an attempted blockade on the M-40 highway in the Dalbandin sector of Balochistan on Wednesday after engaging militants in a heavy exchange of fire. Officials confirmed that seven militants died during the operation carried out after intelligence reports alerted authorities to the plan.

According to military sources, a group identifying itself as โFitna Al-Hindustanโ attempted to block the strategic route to disrupt traffic and supply movement in western Balochistan. However, security forces quickly moved in and engaged the group, triggering an intense firefight in the area.
Moreover, troops recovered weapons and explosives from the scene following the operation. Authorities stated that the militants aimed to target key transportation routes, but timely action prevented any disruption to national logistics and movement along the highway.
Casualties and ongoing operations
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that casualties also occurred on the side of security forces, although exact details regarding identities and units will be released after notifying families. The area has since been secured as clearance operations continue.
Furthermore, local authorities praised the operation and reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating militant threats in the region. They stressed that Balochistan would not tolerate destabilizing activities and vowed continued action against armed groups operating in remote areas.
