Security forces killed seven India-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, security sources said on Friday.
The operation targeted militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, while security forces also destroyed their hideouts during the action. Sources said the latest operation forms part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
The development came a day after security forces killed six militants in Balochistan’s Kachhi district. The forces conducted that operation in the Sanni area against militants identified by authorities as Fitna al-Hindustan.
Security Forces Target Militants In Kachhi
Security forces carried out the Kachhi operation under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, according to security sources. They used quadcopters to target the militants during the intelligence-based operation.
The operation resulted in the deaths of six militants, while security forces recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition. A clearance operation was also underway to search the area for any remaining militants.
Meanwhile, the North Waziristan operation adds to recent counterterrorism actions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security forces have continued conducting intelligence-based operations to target militant hideouts and networks.
Operations Continue Against Militant Networks
Security sources said forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision. The latest actions come amid increased militant activity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pakistan has reported a rise in militant attacks in recent months, particularly in the two provinces. Security forces have subsequently intensified intelligence-led operations against suspected militant positions and infrastructure.
