Security forces and law enforcement agencies conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in Khyber District, killing 22 terrorists, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday. However, officials confirmed that a 10-year-old child also lost their life during the exchange of fire.
The operation began after credible intelligence reports identified militant presence in the area. Consequently, security personnel moved in and engaged the terrorists in a heavy exchange of fire.
Militants Identified as Fitna-ul-Kharij Group
According to officials, the slain militants belonged to the group identified as Fitna-ul-Kharij. Security forces targeted them effectively during the operation, neutralizing 22 individuals on the spot.
Meanwhile, the militants reportedly opened indiscriminate fire during the encounter. As a result, a civilian child was tragically killed, raising concerns over the impact of militant activity on local communities.
