LAHORE: On December 11, the Lahore High Court (LHC) conducted a hearing on a petition seeking to improve internet speeds across Pakistan.
The court issued notices to the federal government and other relevant authorities, requesting their responses on the issue.
The session, presided over by Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, was initiated by the Judicial Activism Panel.
The petition cites data from the World Population Review, which ranks Pakistan 198th globally in internet speed. It calls for court directives to enhance internet connectivity nationwide and lift restrictions on the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
