Facebook, instagram introduce paid subscription in australia, new zealand

Meta Will Charge US$11.99 On The Web And US$14.99 On The IOS And Android Mobile Platforms.

Facebook and Instagram rolled out today their first paid subscription in Australia and New Zealand.

With this strategy, Meta _ mother company of Facebook and Instagram_ is testing mindset of users to pay for using the platforms.

Meta will charge US$11.99 on the web and US$14.99 on the iOS and Android
mobile platforms.

In the next stage, Facebook and Instagram will reach out to more countries
for paid subscriptions.

Earlier, Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook and Instagram are launching
a paid monthly subscription to social media platforms.

CEO Meta Mark Zuckerberg said that a monthly fee will be charged to verify the accounts of the users.

The paid users will get a blue tick, extra protection, and will be allowed
to access direct customer support, Zuckerberg said.

He said the decision is an inspiration by Twitter which has rolled out a monthly subscription for the users of the platform.

Facebook and Instagram verification processes will be initiated from
Australia and New Zealand. Later on, it will be extended to other countries,
Zuckerberg added.

“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our
services,” he said.

Already verified Facebook and Instagram accounts will not be changed and only adult users, over 18, will be allowed to subscribe.

Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement comes at a time when the famous social media
networks are facing financial difficulties.
