The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced new OG-3 career opportunities in its Cyber Security Department (CySD), based in Karachi. The vacancies target professionals with relevant cybersecurity and IT qualifications.
The recruitment drive includes two positions: Senior Cyber Operations Analyst and SOC Administrator. Both roles focus on strengthening cyber defence, improving security operations and managing emerging threats.

Which Cybersecurity Positions Are Available at SBP?
The SBP is hiring for the following OG-3 positions within its Cyber Security Department.
1. Senior Cyber Operations Analyst – OG-3
The Senior Cyber Operations Analyst will oversee cyber operations monitoring, threat analysis and incident response activities. The role also involves coordinating investigations and improving security capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure 24/7 monitoring coverage for timely threat detection, analysis and response.
- Validate, prioritize and escalate cybersecurity cases when necessary.
- Conduct advanced threat analysis and guide threat-hunting activities.
- Manage and optimize security tools, including SIEM, SOAR and TIP.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks and investigation reports.
- Respond promptly to cybersecurity cases and incidents under established response procedures.
- Reduce and mitigate the impact of security threats.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Improve cyber operations and incident response processes.
- Prepare regular operational reports for management.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by management.
2. SOC Administrator – OG-3
The SOC Administrator will manage the availability, performance and integration of cybersecurity operations tools. The position also supports security automation, detection capabilities and incident handling.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Administer, maintain and optimize cybersecurity tools, ensuring 24/7 availability.
- Manage platforms such as SIEM, SOAR, TIP and FIM.
- Integrate cybersecurity tools with organizational security controls and support automation initiatives.
- Create dashboards, reports and visualizations to highlight security events, trends and metrics.
- Respond promptly to cybersecurity incidents under established procedures.
- Improve cyber operations and incident response capabilities.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, playbooks and automated workflows.
- Prepare operational reports for management, audit and compliance.
- Develop and fine-tune detection rules and security use cases.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other relevant tasks assigned by management.
What Are the Eligibility Criteria?
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree equivalent to 16 years of education from a reputable HEC-recognized domestic or foreign university.
For the Senior Cyber Operations Analyst position, eligible academic backgrounds include:

For the SOC Administrator position, applicants must have a relevant degree in:

Cybersecurity certifications will strengthen applications. For the Senior Cyber Operations Analyst role, preferred certifications include Security Blue Team (BTL1), CompTIA CySA+ and CEH.
For the SOC Administrator position, CEH, Security Blue Team (BTL1) and other relevant certifications will be preferred.
