KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan has announced new job openings for the positions of Media Relations Officer and Chief Technology Officer, inviting applications from qualified candidates for key roles in communication and digital payments leadership.
According to the announcement, the central bank has set June 8 as the deadline to apply for the position of Media Relations Officer in the External Communications Department at its head office in Karachi. The role is expected to support the bank’s media engagement strategy and strengthen communication with the public and news organizations.
Openings in Communications and Digital Payments
Alongside the media role, SBP has also advertised the position of Chief Technology Officer for Raast Payments Pakistan. The selected candidate will lead the company’s technology vision and oversee enterprise architecture, product development, quality assurance, automation, and technology partnerships.
Officials said the position carries strategic responsibility for delivering resilient, secure, and customer-focused digital payment solutions aligned with Pakistan’s growing digital financial services landscape.
Key Responsibilities for CTO Role
According to the details, the Chief Technology Officer will lead IT strategic and operational planning to support business goals, Pakistan’s digital financial services agenda, and SBP’s regulatory requirements.
The role also includes driving product and feature development, overseeing enterprise architecture, implementing infrastructure and cloud strategy, and ensuring system scalability and interoperability. In addition, the CTO will supervise quality assurance, release management, CI/CD automation, DevOps practices, and vendor performance management.
Furthermore, the officer will maintain technical standards and documentation while coordinating with security and operations teams to ensure round-the-clock availability of critical systems.
The recruitment reflects SBP’s continued focus on strengthening both institutional communications and Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem through experienced leadership and innovation.
