Police have arrested a man accused of attempting to sexually assault a seven-year-old boy in Sargodha’s Factory Area. Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody within hours of the reported incident.
According to police, the child, identified as Muhammad Hussain, was returning home from tuition when the incident allegedly occurred.
Child Allegedly Taken to Vacant Plot
Police said the suspect, identified as Sharif, allegedly stopped the child while he was on his way home. He then allegedly took the boy to a nearby vacant plot.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly attempted to sexually assault the child. However, local residents reportedly arrived at the scene, forcing the accused to flee before the alleged assault could be completed.
The child was later reunited with his family, and the matter was immediately reported to police.
Police Register Case and Arrest Suspect
Factory Area Police responded soon after receiving information about the incident. Authorities registered a case based on a complaint filed by the minor’s aunt. Subsequently, SHO Factory Area Ammar Khan, along with a police team, launched an operation to trace the suspect.
Police said they arrested the accused within a few hours of the reported incident.
Suspect Identified as Gym Trainer
According to police, the arrested suspect works as a gym trainer. Investigators also confirmed that footage linked to the incident has surfaced. Officials said the material is currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
The evidence will be reviewed alongside other findings to help determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
