Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has climbed to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after another update to the international standings. The latest rankings place him ahead of India’s Abhishek Sharma, marking a significant achievement for the Pakistani batter.
The changes followed India’s 3-0 T20I series victory over Zimbabwe, which led to several movements in both the batting and bowling rankings. As a result, Farhan strengthened his position among the world’s top T20I batters.
Farhan Overtakes Abhishek Sharma
Farhan now holds 848 rating points, moving into second place in the ICC rankings. Meanwhile, India’s Abhishek Sharma slipped to third position with 819 points.
India’s Ishan Kishan continues to lead the batting rankings with an impressive 910 rating points. His consistent performances have allowed him to maintain a comfortable advantage at the top.
Among other Pakistani batters, Saim Ayub remains in 41st place with 560 points. Babar Azam follows closely in 43rd position with 555 points, while Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha occupies 45th place with 547 points.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Records Biggest Rise
India’s young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi produced the biggest improvement in the latest rankings. His outstanding performances against Zimbabwe earned him the Player of the Series award.
Consequently, he jumped 230 places to reach 48th position with 536 rating points. His rapid rise reflects an impressive start to his international T20I career.
On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman was the only Pakistani batter among the listed players to lose ground. He slipped from 72nd to 73rd place and now has 481 rating points.
Abrar Ahmed Holds Second Spot in Bowling Rankings
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed maintained his second position in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to lead the bowlers, while England’s Adil Rashid remains third after strong performances in the recent India series.
Furthermore, Mohammad Nawaz retained his place in the top 10. He currently ranks 10th with 658 rating points.
Salman Mirza also improved his position in the latest rankings. He climbed to 15th place with 636 points. Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi moved up to 30th after reaching 602 rating points.
Usman Tariq remains in 59th place with 524 points, while Sufiyan Muqeem occupies 68th position with 510 points. In addition, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf retained their previous rankings at 76th and 89th, respectively.
The latest ICC rankings underline Pakistan’s growing presence in T20I cricket. With several players maintaining strong positions, the team continues to strengthen its standing in the shortest format of the game.
