Riyadh Air has officially launched operations in Pakistan, adding another direct connection between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The airline’s inaugural flight arrived at Islamabad International Airport from Riyadh on Friday evening. Riyadh Air flight RX-660 carried 69 passengers upon arrival.
The Pakistan Airports Authority later organized an inauguration ceremony at the airport. Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki attended the ceremony as chief guest.
Airline Begins Daily Islamabad Service
Riyadh Air will operate seven weekly flights between Riyadh and Islamabad. The new service gives travelers another direct option between the two capitals.
The route will serve Pakistani workers, business travelers, families, and religious pilgrims. Saudi Arabia currently hosts more than two million Pakistanis, creating strong demand for air travel.
PAA Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed welcomed Riyadh Air’s entry into Pakistan. He said the service would improve connectivity and strengthen aviation cooperation.
Riyadh Air Expands Global Network
Riyadh Air is wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The airline serves as the Kingdom’s new national carrier.
The airline plans to connect Riyadh with more than 100 global destinations by the end of this decade. Its expansion supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 aviation goals.
After arriving in Islamabad, the aircraft returned to Riyadh carrying 272 passengers. The new route is expected to strengthen travel links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
