Rawalpindi Commissioner Salman Ghani has directed the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to intensify action against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized development. He issued the orders during a meeting that reviewed land-use matters, housing projects and ongoing enforcement measures.
The meeting focused on improving oversight across the RDA’s jurisdiction. Ghani instructed officials to strengthen monitoring and take timely action against violations involving land use, housing schemes and development activities.
Commissioner Calls For Stronger Monitoring
Ghani directed officials to improve geo-tagging, verify land records and regularly monitor housing schemes. He also ordered authorities to review approved and unapproved schemes to prevent unauthorized development and illegal marketing.
Moreover, the commissioner stressed the importance of maintaining accurate and updated records. Officials must properly verify information related to land use, housing schemes and development projects to improve transparency and enforcement.
RDA Told To Ensure Timely Action
Ghani instructed the relevant departments to act promptly whenever they identify violations, discrepancies or unauthorized activities. He also ordered officials to document enforcement measures and ensure proper follow-up on reported violations.
The commissioner further called for stronger coordination between RDA departments. He directed officials to improve information-sharing regarding planning approvals, site inspections, land use and enforcement operations.
Ghani said accurate records and effective field monitoring would help the authority manage development activities more efficiently. He added that geo-tagging and modern technology could improve oversight and enable authorities to respond to violations more quickly.
