Punjab authorities have decided to link the postal delivery system with the Traffic Policeโs Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS). The move aims to address delays in delivering driving license cards to citizens.
Currently, DLIMS only shows whether a license card is under processing or has been printed. After the planned integration, applicants will also be able to track their cards and check their current location.
New System to Track License Deliveries
The upgraded system will provide online information about each cardโs handover from traffic police to the post office. Citizens will also be able to view delivery updates and track the cardโs current location.
The integration will give applicants greater visibility throughout the delivery process. As a result, citizens will no longer have to rely only on basic processing or printing updates.
PITB to Facilitate Data Integration
Officials said traffic police also face difficulties accessing complete license delivery information under the existing system. Therefore, authorities have contacted the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to support the required data integration.
The new facility is expected to improve monitoring and make the delivery process more transparent. Authorities also hope it will help ensure that driving license cards reach applicants within the prescribed time.
