The Punjab government has approved plans to build three major hospitals in Lahore. All three facilities will rise in LDA City.
The projects aim to expand specialized healthcare services in the province. The government has allocated 216 acres for Nawaz Sharif Medical City.
Three Specialized Hospitals Planned
The Maryam Nawaz Institute of Pediatric Health Sciences will offer 352 beds. The project carries an estimated cost of Rs. 8 billion.
Meanwhile, the Nawaz Sharif Institute will include a 175-bed center. It will provide burn care, plastic surgery and trauma treatment.
The government has estimated the cost of this center at Rs. 6.15 billion. The facility will add specialized treatment options for patients with serious injuries and burns.
Genetic Blood Disease Institute Also Planned
The third project will focus on genetic blood disorders. The Nawaz Sharif Institute of Genetic Blood Diseases will also operate from LDA City.
Officials estimate the project cost at Rs. 10 billion. The institute will provide specialized healthcare for patients with genetic blood conditions.
IDAP Gets Construction Responsibility
The Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) will oversee construction of all three hospitals.
Together, the projects will create new healthcare facilities in Lahore. They will also expand access to pediatric care, trauma treatment, burn services and genetic disease treatment.
