The Pakistan High Commission in London has introduced a digital property transfer facility for overseas Pakistanis. The new service allows British Pakistanis to transfer property in Punjab without travelling to Pakistan. It aims to make property transactions simpler while reducing the paperwork and costs linked to traditional procedures.
The initiative also provides a more direct route for overseas Pakistanis managing property matters from abroad. Applicants can complete the process through a digital system after verifying their identity at the High Commission.
Digital Property Transfer Without Power of Attorney
Under the new system, overseas Pakistanis no longer need to issue a Power of Attorney for property transfers. They also do not need to appoint third-party representatives or agents.
This change can reduce unnecessary legal expenses and limit the risks associated with third-party involvement. Moreover, applicants can complete the process directly through the digital system.
The High Commission highlighted the facility after successfully processing a property transfer for an overseas Pakistani family.
“The Pakistani High Commission said that we were pleased to process the digital transfer of property for Mr. Fazal and family.”
Officials also confirmed that the facility is available for overseas Pakistanis who need to complete property transfers from London.
“The Pakistani High Commission said that we are fully prepared to directly transfer the property of overseas Pakistanis at any time.”
Faster and More Secure Property Transactions
The digital process focuses on transparency, security and efficiency. Overseas Pakistanis can therefore manage their property transactions without making an expensive trip to Pakistan.
Applicants first verify their identity at the High Commission before proceeding with the transfer. The system then allows the property transaction to move forward digitally.
Furthermore, removing agents and third-party representatives can make the process easier to monitor. It can also reduce the possibility of fraud during property transactions.
Government Expands Services for Overseas Pakistanis
The facility follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives to improve services for Pakistanis living abroad. It also reflects wider efforts to modernise government services through digital solutions.
