KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced a local holiday on June 8 to observe the annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA). According to an official notification issued by the Human Resource Management Department, the city administration declared June 8, corresponding to 22 Zul Hijjah 1447 AH, as a public holiday within Karachiโs municipal limits.
Decision Approved by City Authorities
The notification stated that the holiday was approved following a resolution passed by the Karachi City Council. All offices under the administrative control of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will remain closed on the designated day. Officials confirmed that the competent authority formally endorsed the decision after reviewing administrative procedures.

However, authorities clarified that departments providing essential and emergency services will continue functioning without interruption to ensure public convenience.
