Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has criticised the government over Imran Khan’s transfer to PIMS. The party accused authorities of ignoring Supreme Court orders.
The Supreme Court had directed authorities to move Imran to Shifa International Hospital. However, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar later confirmed his transfer to PIMS.
The development sparked criticism from PTI leaders and Imran’s family. They questioned why authorities did not follow the court’s instructions.
Imran Taken to Pims for Medical Examination
Imran’s sister Uzma Khan visited PIMS alongside his personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan. She said officials called them to Adiala jail on Friday.
According to Uzma, officials separated her from Dr Sultan before taking her away. She said police provided no clear explanation about the arrangements.
Uzma said officials took her to PIMS instead of Shifa International Hospital. She claimed authorities told her the visit involved a follow-up for Imran’s eye condition.
Imran has previously received treatment at Pims for his eye ailment. His right central retinal vein occlusion emerged earlier this year.
Family Raises Questions Over Hospital Transfer
Uzma described the hospital as dark and said officials used a mobile phone torch. She later found Imran waiting upstairs with several doctors.
She said Imran appeared surprised to see her after several months apart. Uzma told him he had arrived for a medical examination.
She also asked officials about Dr Sultan but received no response. Doctors subsequently examined Imran’s eye at the hospital.
The Supreme Court had also barred authorities from using his medical information politically. PTI has now demanded compliance with the court’s directives.
