Disqualification in Toshakhana case
ISLAMABAD: PTI chairman Imran Khan anticipates his disqualification in the Toshakhana case. He believed this after a district and sessions court declared four witnesses in the case as irrelevant.
However, Khan has approached the high court against the decision.
In a video statement Khan stated, “I am consistently being deprived of the right to a fair trial in the Toshakhana case, according to the Constitution. I am not even allowed to present witnesses in my defense.”

The district and sessions court called for final arguments from the parties on Thursday (today) regarding the gift case.
The court has asserted that it will reserve the decision if the parties fail to present their arguments.
The court has set Thursday, August 3, as the date for the final arguments from the parties and will reserve the decision if they fail to do so.
On Wednesday, the court maintained that Khan had failed to prove the relationship of the witnesses presented on his behalf with the case.
Consequently, the court did not allow witnesses to record their statements.
Islamabad court rejects witnesses of Imran Khan
Meanwhile, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad rejected PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s witnesses in the Toshakhana case.
The court observed that the ex-premier had not demonstrated their “relevance” in the ongoing criminal proceedings against him. The ECP had filed a complaint against Imran for concealing details of Toshakhana gifts. Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar heard the case on Wednesday.
During the previous hearing, the court had raised 35 questions, and Imran had submitted his response to them.
However, during the latest hearing, the Judge noted that the PTI lawyer had submitted a list of defense witnesses, but he failed to present them in court.
The judge pointed out that a list of four witnesses had been provided, and the court was asked to set a date for recording their statements.
Nonetheless, Imran did not record the statements of private witnesses, nor did he submit the list of government witnesses.
