ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan once again tendered apology in the district and sessions court regarding the incident involving his threatening remarks towards female judge Zeba Chaudhry.
Khan’s apology took place during his appearance at the court of Judicial Magistrate Islamabad, Malik Aman, as the case was being heard.
In his previous speech following his removal as prime minister in April 2023, he had passionately addressed the top police officials and Judge Chaudhry in Islamabad, threatening to take legal action against them for alleged mistreatment of his party leader Shahbaz Gill.

During the hearing, Khan reiterated that he had already expressed regret when he previously visited the judge’s court. While standing before Judge Aman, he stated, “I went to the court of the female judge and apologized if my statement offended anyone.”
However, when Khan went to the judge’s courtroom to offer his apology over a month after making the threats, he was informed by the police that she was on leave and the room was closed.
Nevertheless, Khan conveyed his message through the court reader, requesting him to inform Judge Zeba Chaudhry of his apology and witness his presence.
Meanwhile, at the district and sessions court in the capital, Khan expressed remorse over his statement, emphasizing his intention to pursue legal action. He asserted, “I apologize if I crossed the line.”
Khan further maintained his track record of upholding justice, stating, “I founded a political party for the sake of justice 27 years ago, and I have not violated any laws to this day.”
The case against Khan originated from his August 2022 public rally, where he allegedly threatened Judge Chaudhry and senior police officers of Islamabad, leading to charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The Islamabad High Court initiated contempt of court proceedings against him, but later dropped the terrorism charges and pardoned him after he tendered an apology in the contempt case.
However, a separate case was filed against Khan, which is still pending before the sessions court, following the registration of the first information report (FIR) against him.
