The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have raided an alleged unlicensed internet service provider in Lahore.
The joint operation targeted M/s Frontend Internet (SMC-Private Limited) in Kahna Nau, located along Ferozepur Road.
PTA’s Zonal Office Lahore conducted the operation with the FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle Lahore.
According to the authorities, the company was allegedly providing internet services without a valid PTA licence.
One Person Taken Into Custody
During the operation, authorities took one person into custody for further investigation.
The raid took place at the company’s premises on Mustafi School Street near Mosque Bilal in Baddoki, Kahna Nau.
The operation focused on the alleged provision of internet services without the required regulatory authorisation.
Networking Equipment Seized During Raid
The joint team also confiscated several items from the premises during the operation.
The seized equipment included two Cisco switches and five GPON OLTs. Authorities also recovered 19 patch cables from the location. In addition, the team confiscated three cash memo books and one laptop.
The seized equipment and records are expected to form part of the ongoing investigation into the company’s operations.
The operation highlights regulatory action against internet service providers operating without the required licence.
Further proceedings will determine the legal status of the alleged violations and the person taken into custody.
