President Accepts Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pralhad Joshi has been given additional charge of India’s Ministry of Education.

President Droupadi Murmu accepted Pradhan’s resignation on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision took effect immediately under Article 75 of the Indian Constitution.
The presidential statement clarified that Joshi had been assigned the education portfolio in addition to his existing responsibilities.
This means Joshi has not been appointed through a separate permanent cabinet reshuffle. He will oversee the ministry alongside his current portfolios.
Joshi already serves as minister for consumer affairs, food and public distribution, and new and renewable energy.
The Karnataka politician is an experienced parliamentarian. He previously managed important portfolios, including parliamentary affairs, coal and mines.
His immediate challenge will be restoring public confidence in India’s examination system.
Pradhan Resigns After Weeks of Youth-Led Protests
Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down following sustained pressure from the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party.
The movement began after anger over alleged leaks involving the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and other examinations.
