Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has rejected reports about his engagement and wedding. He addressed the rumours himself on Monday and clarified that no such event had taken place.
In a video statement, Bilawal said social media had already announced his engagement and wedding. He also denied knowing anyone named Princess Gloria, whose name appeared in reports circulating online.
Bilawal said any decision regarding his personal life would be announced by his family. Therefore, he urged the public to ignore social media speculation and focus on important national issues.
Bilawal Calls Social Media Rumours Distraction
The PPP chairman described the online discussion as an attempt to divert public attention from real problems. He argued that social media speculation had created unnecessary noise around his personal life.
Bilawal then shifted his focus towards the recent tragedy at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). A fire at the Islamabad hospital claimed the lives of 14 infants and triggered widespread concern.
He criticised the federal government’s handling of the healthcare system following the deaths. Moreover, Bilawal targeted Health Minister Mustafa Kamal over his administrative performance.
PPP Chairman Criticises Provincial Demands
Bilawal also criticised political discussions surrounding the creation of new provinces. He referred to statements supporting the creation of additional provinces and questioned their timing.
He said the Sindh Assembly had taken a firm position against discussing such matters publicly. Furthermore, he highlighted tensions between the PPP and MQM-P over demands for a separate Karachi province.
The PPP strongly opposes the MQM-P’s demand to separate Karachi from Sindh. Meanwhile, Bilawal argued that political leaders should prioritise public welfare and pressing national challenges.
He reiterated that his family would make any future announcement about his engagement or marriage. Until then, he urged people to disregard unverified claims circulating on social media.
