The PML-N requests an investigation into how PTI leader Imran Khan raised money for flood victims through telethons.
“This money is missing. At a press conference held here on Thursday, PML-N MPA Rana Mashhood requested that “details of it (be) shared with the nation. He maintained that the gifts made in this manner were national contributions (and thus warranted state intervention for its audit).
He said the sum was adequate to help the flood victims, referring to PTI estimates that Rs 10 billion had been raised through the telethons. He further demanded that the PTI provide details of the hundreds of millions of rupees in expenses related to Imran Khan’s public meetings.
The former provincial minister reaffirmed his party’s promise to overthrow Punjab’s current administration soon and return to power with a two-thirds majority in the subsequent general election.
He claimed that the PTI was responsible for the country’s economic collapse and that the PML-N and coalition partners had made difficult choices for the good of the nation even at the expense of their own political interests. He said they were determined to continue making difficult choices for the country’s (economic) stability and advancement.
He declared that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif would soon be in the midst of the populace after deciding to return home (from London, where he had been residing since November 2019 for his medical treatment).
