SIC Chief Raza Set to Address Marwat’s Concerns Against Alliance, Promises Revelations

Alliance

Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza issued a stern warning to leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urging them to address internal disputes privately and prevent divisions within the party. This came after Sher Afzal Marwat voiced his grievances against the alliance with SIC during a television appearance.

In a statement posted on X, Sahibzada Hamid Raza emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts within PTI internally. He clarified that the decision to align with SIC was made by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Marwat had criticized the partnership with SIC, labeling it a “mistake” and alleging that Khan had initially directed PTI to align with the Shirani group.

However, he claimed that discussions abruptly shifted towards an alliance with Raza’s party, despite an unconditional offer from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Shirani for collaboration with PTI.

Marwat argued that aligning with the Shirani group wouldn’t have caused issues for PTI. Conversely, Raza asserted that Khan made the decision to join SIC without any request from his side.

He hinted at having significant revelations regarding election symbols and specific seats, suggesting that airing these grievances publicly would be unsettling for many.

Raza reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Khan and PTI, stating that his loyalty to the party founder would endure.

He emphasized that his silence on certain matters was out of respect for Khan, refraining from tarnishing the party’s image.

PTI leader Ali Zafar clarified that Khan was informed about the decision to join SIC after it had been finalized.

Zafar explained on Dawn News show InFocus that PTI opted to align with a party that contested the general elections and had a parliamentary member, aiming to secure reserved seats.

The statements reflect internal tensions within PTI and underscore the complexities surrounding political alliances and decision-making processes within the party.
