Sheikh Rasheed: government plans to build more tourist attractions

With the goal of increasing the number of options for domestic travellers, the minister suggested that 10 to 15 additional locations needed to be explored while talking to a local news channel.

Islamabad: At the government’s Tuesday press briefing, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that the country’s tourism industry needed a boost and that the government wanted to look into additional tourist destinations to do that.
With the goal of increasing the number of options for domestic travellers, the minister suggested that 10 to 15 additional locations needed to be explored while talking to a local news channel.
He acknowledged that the unprecedented snowfall in Murree, which had not been seen in decades, had created a difficult situation, but promised that tourism management will be handled properly in the future.
Murree is being closely monitored, and they will evacuate all roads by Tuesday night, he added.
He assured the people that if they cooperated by delaying their trip plans to Murree, the issue would be under control.
To a query, he further criticised the opposition politicians for their alleged irresponsible behaviour, saying that they were using the tragedy to further their political goals rather than providing a helping hand.
