Shehbaz Sharif Calls on Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to Close ‘Private Jails’ in Sindh

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif responded to criticism from PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari by urging him to address the issue of ‘private jails’ owned by the feudal elite in Sindh.

Sharif called on Bhutto-Zardari to secure the release of women and children allegedly imprisoned in these dungeons before discussing ‘political prisoners’ in the country. The remarks were made during a political gathering in Mandi Bahauddin.

Shehbaz Sharif, without explicitly naming Bhutto-Zardari, stated that there were no political prisoners in Pakistan during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure as prime minister from 2013 to 2018. He challenged the PPP leader to eliminate personal jails and release oppressed individuals from these facilities.

Shehbaz

During the rally, Shehbaz Sharif outlined the PML-N’s plans to bring about a revolution in the lives of people in rural areas. He mentioned providing small loans to farmers and youth to help them establish small factories for agricultural products.

Sharif emphasized that Pakistan might not have abundant oil and gas reserves, but it possesses a large youth population with the potential to be equipped with vocational education and IT skills.

He highlighted the accomplishments of the PML-N government, stating that Nawaz Sharif worked hard to overcome challenges such as load shedding, and bringing about improvements in the agricultural and industrial sectors. Sharif claimed that progress was halted by a conspiracy to remove Nawaz Sharif from power.

The PML-N president mentioned the establishment of educational institutions and hospitals, distribution of laptops to students, scholarships, and subsidized packages for farmers during the PML-N’s governance.

He promised further development, including a modern university and a large hospital in Mandi Bahauddin, if the party is voted to power in the upcoming polls on February 8.
