PTI’s elite activist Khadija Shah tenders apology over her involvement in May 9 attack and her tweet against army’s top brass
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONELAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Elite PTI activist and fashion designer Khadija Shah has tendered an apology through social media for her involvement in the May 9 attack on the Lahore Corps Commander’s residence.
The Punjab government has declared Khadija Shah the prime suspect in the Jinnah House vandalism case.

She has expressed regret for her actions in a video message shared on social
media.
Khadija condemned the May 9 attacks and apologized for the tweet against the
military’s top brass.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the health condition of Khadija Shah reportedly took a sudden turn for the worse at Lahore’s Central Jail.
The PTI activist Khadija Shah had been experiencing stomach problems in
detention.
After a week-long hide and seek, Khadija Shah voluntarily surrendered
herself at Iqbal Town police station in Lahore on May 23.
On the following (May 24), Lahore police got her seven-day judicial custody
from an anti-terrorism court (ATC). The court ordered the police to produce her
again on May 31.
Khadija Shah belongs to an influential family, living in Lahore. She is the
daughter of former finance minister Dr. Salman Shah and granddaughter of late
army chief General (Retd) Asif Nawaz Janjua.
She is the founder of an elite garments brand “Elan”.
On May 31, Lahore police will produce her in the anti-terrorism court after
completing her identity parade.
Soon after May 9 attack on the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore, police
declared her a prime suspect for organizing the attack after finding evidence
from multiple messages she had sent to the PTI activists in addition to phone
calls.
Lahore police arrested her father Dr. Salman Shah and her husband. Dr. Shah was released within a day but Khadija Shah’s husband remained in police custody till the time she courted arrest.
