ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, Ali Muhammad Khan, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced during a press conference in Islamabad that the party’s founder has directed the immediate commencement of intraparty elections. Khan conveyed that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been entrusted with overseeing the arrangements for the intra-party elections.
During the press conference, Ali Muhammad Khan emphasized that the PTI’s founder has conveyed a clear message, urging the party to refrain from engaging in political vendettas should the government form. The directive is to follow the pattern of Nelson Mandela’s commission, emphasizing reconciliation and unity over divisive politics. Additionally, Khan stated that the PTI is committed to remembering and supporting women who may be facing incarceration.
Earlier in the day, a meeting of the PTI’s parliamentary party took place, where discussions centered around the circumstances arising from the resignation of the Rawalpindi commissioner. The party’s contacts with other political entities were also on the agenda.
