PTI Disavows Marwat’s Allegations, Clarifies Stance on Saudi Relations

The leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has vehemently refuted the allegations put forth by Sher Afzal Marwat regarding Saudi Arabia’s purported involvement in a regime change operation.

During an appearance on a television program, Sher Afzal Marwat claimed that not only the United States but also Saudi Arabia played a role in orchestrating a regime change operation. Additionally, Marwat alleged that Pakistan had offered two military bases to the United States for launching attacks on Afghanistan and Iran.

These startling claims surfaced amid a visit by a high-level Saudi delegation, led by the foreign minister, to Pakistan, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation.

In response, the PTI’s spokesperson issued a swift and categorical clarification, asserting that the party unequivocally rejects and dissociates itself from Marwat’s assertions. The spokesperson emphasized that Marwat’s statements do not align with PTI’s principles or stance and are solely reflective of his personal views. They clarified that Marwat’s remarks carry no endorsement or validation from the PTI leadership or its members.

Furthermore, the spokesperson underlined the deep-rooted and cherished bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, characterizing Saudi Arabia as a close and trusted brotherly Islamic country. PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, along with the entire leadership and supporters of the party, holds the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the highest regard and considers it of utmost significance.

The statement also underscored the mutual respect, trust, and fraternal ties between Imran Khan, the esteemed founder of PTI, and Saudi Arabia’s distinguished Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.

Amidst the delicate diplomatic dynamics at play, the PTI’s swift rebuttal aims to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia while distancing itself from unfounded claims that could potentially strain bilateral ties.
