The final of PSL 7 was between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. Shaheen Shah Afridi, from Lahore Qalandars, makes PSL history with a brilliant inning.
Lahore Qalandars won their first season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday thanks to Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has been brilliant throughout the competition.
Lahore defeated Multan Sultans by 42 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium to become the PSL champions’ youngest ever captain.
Only Mohammad Rizwan, at 28, had led his team to victory before Shaheen. 2021 saw the Sultans win the PSL, but Lahore Qalandars finally took the 2022 victory after 7 years.
As captain of Lahore Qalandars in this year’s PSL, the great left-arm pacer not only led the team from the front but was also a terrific bowler.
Also, Shaheen has become the youngest captain in the history of the T20 competition to lead a team to victory. In the previous year, Steve Smith, at 22 years old, guided the Sydney Sixers to the BBL championship.
In this year’s league, he got 20 wickets in 13 games, beating Islamabad United’s captain Shadab Khan, who had collected 19 wickets in the same number of games.
