Numerous names are under consideration for the roles in the finance and foreign affairs departments. Recently elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is now engaging in discussions to establish his cabinet, during which multiple significant names are being evaluated for key positions.

Although the official unveiling of the federal cabinet is anticipated close to the presidential election date, certain potential names and associated portfolios have surfaced. In an extraordinary revelation, insiders claim that Ahsan Iqbal is seemingly the frontrunner for the prestigious interior minister position, while Khawaja Asif is anticipated to secure the defence ministry role.

Attaullah Tarar’s name has been prominently mentioned for the information ministry, with Anusha Rehman’s potential candidacy for the IT ministry sparking considerable interest. Sardar Yousaf appears to be a strong contender for the religious affairs minister position. Hanif Abbasi is expected to be appointed as the health minister, Musadik Malik seems destined for the petroleum ministry, and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry is tipped to lead the CAD ministry in the forthcoming cabinet.

Despite the mentioned cabinet formations, the reports emphasize that numerous candidates are still under consideration for the crucial finance and foreign affairs portfolios. The government coalition is spearheaded by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz as its leading party, while the Pakistan Peoples Party, having pledged support for Shehbaz’s prime ministerial election, has declared their decision to abstain from accepting any ministerial positions.
