LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has increased pay and perks of its minister but did not share details with the opposition members of the Punjab Assembly.

PTI MPA Mussarat Jamshaid Cheema introduced the Punjab Ministers Salaries, Allowances and Privileges (Amendment) (Repeal) Bill 2022 in the assembly on Oct 18.
PTI MPA urged the house to dispense with all relevant rules of procedure of the provincial assembly under rule 234 for the immediate consideration of the bill and the bill was approved quickly.
PML-N MPA Samiullah Khan strongly opposed the bill through, complaining that the opposition MPAs were not aware about the clauses contained in the bill.
“No one knows what is written in the bill,” he said.
Samiullah Khan said that the government deliberately did not provide copies of the bill to all the legislators.
