ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr Muhammad Faisal held a secret meeting with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in London. The meeting took place last week, but none of the two shared it on the media.
Also, the purpose is the High Commissioner’s meeting with Nawaz Sharif is also confidential, so far.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office in Islamabad confirmed the meeting. The meeting took place ahead of the arrival of former premier Shehbaz Sharif in London.

According to the FO, the HC received order from Islamabad to meet Nawaz Sharif after the transfer of power to the caretaker setup in the country.
Subsequently, a video surfaced showing Dr Faisal leaving the office of Hassan Nawaz, son of Nawaz Sharif, in London.
The Foreign Office officials termed the meeting a courtesy call on the former prime minister.
Pakistani diplomats often meet high-profile Pakistanis abroad and it is a matter of routine.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an official inquiry into President Arif Alviโs conduct. He said that the tweet by the President has led to a constitutional crisis in Pakistan.
Shehbaz emphasized the need to investigate whether Arif Alvi’s staff made a mistake or the President provided inaccurate information. The process of signing summaries and bills is a legal requirement for prime ministers and other office bearers, he added.
Theย PML-Nย president said the government’s affairs are not conducted through informal means. The role of the President role involves either approving or rejecting bills through proper signing procedures.
Shehbaz said President Alvi holds the highest constitutional office in the state, warranting a comprehensive inquiry to know the truth.
Shehbaz questioned the timing of President Alviโs statement and why he remained silent for an extended period.
He called on the President to clarify why he did not fulfill his duties as required and why he only recalled certain details at a later time. Former PM also raised concerns about President Alviโs failure to adhere to established rules and protocols.
This implies that the former prime minister is anticipated to return to Pakistan in mid-September.
