ISLAMABAD: In preparation for the upcoming general elections in Pakistan, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released the latest statistics on registered voters, showing a significant increase in the number of voters over the past five years.
As of July 25, 2023, the total number of registered voters in Pakistan stands at 126,980,272. This reflects an increase of 21,024,713 voters compared to 2018 when there were 105,955,409 registered voters in the country.
Out of the current total, 68,508,258 are male voters, and 58,472,014 are female voters.
The distribution of registered voters across provinces is as follows:
- Punjab: 72,310,582 voters
- Sindh: 26,651,161 voters
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 21,692,381 voters
- Balochistan: 5,284,594 voters
- Islamabad: 1,041,554 voters
Furthermore, the statistics reveal the age distribution of voters:
- 18 to 35 years: 57,095,197 voters
- 36 to 45 years: 27,794,708 voters
- 46 to 55 years: 18,124,028 voters
- 56 to 65 years: 11,889,259 voters
- 66 years and above: 12,077,080 voters
These voter statistics provide important data for the upcoming general elections in Pakistan, which will determine the composition of the country’s legislative bodies.
HEC Is Giving 2000 Laptops To ECP To Prepare For General Elections In Pakistan
Meanwhile, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is set to supply brand-new 2000 laptops to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The HEC is giving laptops to ECP for preparation for the forthcoming general elections.
The ECP has finalized an agreement with the HEC for the procurement of 2,000 laptops.
The laptops will be allocated to returning officers (ROs) for use during the upcoming general election procedures.
The laptops to be acquired by the HEC are of standard internal specifications. Simultaneously, on Tuesday, the ECP issued a report revealing that the total number of registered voters in the country has now surpassed 126 million.
As per the latest data released by the ECP as of September 19, 2023, the total number of voters nationwide has exceeded 126.9 million.
The report also highlights the significant role that young voters will play in the upcoming elections in Pakistan. According to the data, there are a total of 55.7 million young voters.
Furthermore, the report indicates that the gender distribution among voters in Pakistan stands at 54.02 percent male and 45.98 percent female.
